Santa Maria Assunta

Santa Maria Assunta Review

An exceptional Romanesque church officially classified as a historic monument, the Eglise Santa Maria Assunta just outside the village stands in isolated splendor among vineyards. The 12th-century white-limestone church is one of only six Pisan churches remaining on the island. Check out the façade and interior columns sculpted with human faces, snakes, snails, and mythical animals.
