Musée d'Art et d'Archéologie
Musée d'Art et d'Archéologie Review
The Musée d'Art et d'Archéologie has some fine work by the celebrated local-born Le Nain brothers, Antoine, Louis, and Mathieu, active in the 17th century, as well as a collection of Mediterranean archeological finds from the Bronze Age through the Gallo-Roman era second in importance only to that at the Louvre. The Chapelle des Templiers in the garden—a small, octagonal 12th-century chapel topped by a shallow dome—houses fragments of the cathedral's gable and the chilling effigy of Guillaume de Harcigny, doctor to the insane king Charles VI.
