Château de Santenay

Château de Santenay Review

This majestic 9th- to 16th-century castle is also the former residence of Philippe le Hardi, son of the king of France. The estate, one of the largest in Burgundy, has a total of 237 acres of vines. The château is open year-round, seven days a week. A visit to the gardens and surrounding park culminates in a wine tasting with bottles available for purchase. The award-wining Saint-Aubin "En Vesvau," matured and aged in wooden casks, is a must-try, as is the Château Philippe le Hardi AOP Aloxe-Corton "Les Brunettes et Planchots." The tour and wine tasting is €6 per person and by appointment only. English is spoken.
