Of the many restaurants in the area, this atmospheric, 1930s-style bistro, frequented by savvy locals eager to gain reasonably priced access to Jean-Pierre Billoux's cuisine, is the best value. Well-prepared dishes range from escargots to bœuf bourguignon with braised endive—be sure to check the chalkboard for daily specials. Dine either at the sidewalk tables or inside, where traditional French decor—mirrors and polished wood—predominates.
