Stéphane Derbord

Stéphane Derbord Review

From starters like duck foie gras with pain d'epice (Burgundian spice cake), prune jelly, and orange-accented brioche to entrées like sizzling Charolais beef with onion chutney, jus brun, and organic carrot tagliatelle, and, to finish off, butternut crème brûlée, the talented Derbord, the city's rising gastronomic star, ensures that dinner in this Art Deco restaurant is an elegantly refined affair. Tempting prix-fixe menus range from €25 for lunch to €88 at dinner.

Our dinner at Stephane Derbord was intended to be a culinary highlight of our trip, and it met our expectations. Service was extremely courteous, despite our poor French and the fact that we did not order wine with dinner. Food was delicious and creatively presented. The sense of being well fed and well taken care of was complemented by the chef's little extras, which go well beyond the usual opening amuse-bouche and are served to all diners in a very gracious way.

For anyone traveling to Dijon to see the city's wonderful history/architecture, I'd definitely recommend a meal at Stephane Derbord.
