When to Go
May in Burgundy is lovely, as are September and October, when the sun is still warm on the shimmering golden trees and the grapes, now ready for harvesting, are scenting the air with anticipation. This is when the grapevines are colorful and the caves (wine cellars) are open for business. Many festivals also take place around this time. Note that some restaurants and hotels close down for a month or more in winter.
