Les Chants d'Avril
Les Chants d'Avril Review
It may not be the fanciest restaurant in Nantes, but Les Chants d'Avril is where the locals go for affordable "bistronomic" fare. Murals, dark-wood paneling, and leather banquettes lend a warm, traditional look; the attention to market-driven ingredients and interesting wines, however, puts it on par with the best modern bistrôts à vin. Labels aside, dishes like the excellent homemade foie gras, white-peach gazpacho, or lobster consommé speak for themselves. For dessert, the luscious caramel clafoutis is a must. Although dinner is served on Thursday and Friday, it's best to come at lunch for the three-course menu—a great deal at €22.
