Fodor's Review:

One of the scenic highlights of St-Malo is the Grand Plage (grand beach), a spectacular crescent bordered by city spires and overlooking the roaring surf and fortress-island of Fort National. So it's well worth the extra EUR 15 to book a room here to get a sea view—the vistas are magnificent. Happily, you can also take them in from the hotel's chic and hip bar, terrace, and the picture windows of the breakfast room. Guest rooms are airy, with modern furnishings, some done up in a spiffy blue-and-white nautical theme. Pros: great views; cheerful rooms. Cons: hotel-chain blandness; most rooms shower-only.
