Forty kilometers (25 mi) west of Dinard along the coast is the Cap Fréhel, where dramatic pink cliffs rise vertically from the sea. The colors are most vivid in the evening, but at any time of day the sight is formidable. Pick your way through the seagulls and cormorants and, if you're not afraid of heights, mosey down past the small restaurant for a vertiginous glimpse of the rocks below. Then climb up to the lighthouse, whose beam can be seen by ships up to 60 mi away.
