Fodor's Review

It's easy to feel as though industrial-age design, modern creature comforts, and a jazz soundtrack have always set the scene at La Thuilière, but this lovely castellated structure is mostly the result of a renovation wrought by a hip couple who have managed to underscore the mystère of the late 19th-century Tudor-style château with vintage designer lighting and mod furniture. With only seven suites, the intimacy of the place lets you enjoy the château's fabulous

hall (picture a 24-foot-high fireplace and regal wood trim, carried over to a main staircase, replete with stained glass windows) as if it were your own. The restaurant's menu and wine list are exceptional and original.
