Seahorse

Seahorse Review

This institution opened in 1934 and is as comfortable serving its calorie-rich traditional Finnish fare to resident rock stars as to the mere mortal locals who use it to stifle a hangover—or turn to the worn-looking bar (unchanged since 1950) to start on their way toward one. If you make it past appetizer #8, a shot of the local liquor Koskenkorva, try the pickle-and-sour-cream-laden Beefsteak à la Sea Horse or the classic crispy fried Baltic Herring with mashed potatoes and beets. The friendly service make this a great place to get some local flavor.
