Presidentinlinna (President's Palace)

Presidentinlinna (President's Palace) Review

The long history of this edifice mirrors the history of Finland itself: built between 1813 and 1820 as a private residence for a German businessman, it was redesigned in 1843 as a palace for the czars; then it served as the official residence of Finland's presidents from 1919 to 1993. Nowadays, the president has a new residence and today the place is used as a venue for official receptions.
