Snow leopards and reindeer like the cold climate at one of the world's most northern zoos. Entirely within the limits of this small island, the winding paths make the zoo seem much larger than it actually is. Children love the outdoor play equipment. Between May and September the ferry departs approximately every 30 minutes from the Market Square and the cost of the ferry ticket (EUR 8) includes entrance to the zoo. The trip takes 15 minutes; arrival and departure times are posted at the harbor. Alternatively, you can take the metro to the Kulosaari stop, cross under the tracks, and follow the signs for a 20-minute walk to the zoo. Bus connections are from Erottaja or Hertoniemi (weekends).
