The quirky 1950s architecture and interior design of the Vaakuna dates back to the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Rooms are spacious, with simple but stylish furnishings. The rooftop terrace restaurants are favorite haunts of members of parliament. The hotel is above the Sokos department store, opposite the train station.
