Fodor's Review

This excellent open-air folk museum explores the rural way of life from the Iron Age to the 1950s through more than 20 historic buildings (some restored, some reconstructed), including a medieval crofter's cottage, a Tudor manor house, a 16th-century glass kiln, a full-scale reconstructed Iron Age dwelling, and the oldest daylight photography studio in the country. There are also demonstrations of bygone traditional craft techniques like wheel hooping, saddlery, and Iron Age wood turning.
