Fodor's Review

Across the river from the center of town and tucked away in a beautiful park is one of England's oldest tourist attractions. According to local lore, the cave is the birthplace of the titular 16th-century prophetess, who supposedly foretold such events as the defeat of the Spanish Armada. The mineral-rich well beside her cave is famously able to petrify soft objects in 3–5 months. Call ahead in winter.
