This mid-15th-century building by the River Ouse was a meeting place for the city's powerful guilds. It was also used for mystery plays (medieval dramatizations of biblical stories and the lives of saints). Restoration after World War II bombing damage has given it back some of its fomer glory. The guildhall is behind the 18th-century Mansion House; you can visit it when no function is in progress.
