Brasserie Forty 4
Brasserie Forty 4 Review
Within the elegant 42 The Calls hotel, the Brasserie is one of the city's best restaurants. The atmosphere, like the menu, is modern and upscale but not snobby. The dining room has exposed stone walls and arched windows overlooking the canal. In summer there's a balcony for alfresco dining. The often-changing menu usually features appetizers like smoked chicken tart with lavender-honey dressing or duck with spiced rhubarb chutney. Elegant main courses include fish stew with lobster sauce and duck confit with braised red cabbage. On weekdays there's a three-course fixed price menu for £23.95 that includes a bottle of wine.
