Georgian Theatre Royal

Georgian Theatre Royal Review

A jewel box built in 1788 and still an active community playhouse, this Georgian theatre/museum retains original features such as the wooden seating from which patrons watched 18th century Shakespearean actor David Garrick. During the hourly tours from Monday to Saturday between 10 and 4 (except January), you can see Britain's oldest painted scenery dating back to 1836 and try on theatrical costumes.
