The hidden-away hamlet of Hetton is often filled with cars belonging to diners at the Angel Inn, such is the attraction of this highly regarded casual brasserie and more formal restaurant in an early-18th-century building. Both specialize in locally sourced seasonal food, such as beautifully prepared roast lamb, beef, and seafood. Two-course fixed-price menus in the brasserie at lunch and early-bird dinner are £14.95 (£18.95 for three courses). In the restaurant, there are three-course fixed-price menus for Saturday dinner (£42) and Sunday lunch (£28). At other times both serve dishes à la carte. The ancient stone barn conversion across the road has five well-equipped guest rooms decorated in an unfussy country style (£150/night), with another four contemporary bedrooms in a more modern building. The elegant country inn is 5 miles north of Skipton.
