Yorkshire: Places to Explore

Hawes

The best time to visit the so-called cheesiest town in Yorkshire is on Tuesday, when farmers crowd into town for the weekly market. Crumbly, white Wensleydale cheese has been made in the valley for centuries, and it is sold in local stores and at the market. Allow yourself time to wander the cobbled side streets, some of which are filled with antiques shops and tearooms.
