Fodor's Review

The spectacular sister of the renowned London gallery displays the work of artists who lived and worked in St. Ives, mostly from 1925 to 1975. There are also frequent exhibitions of contemporary art connected to West Cornwall. The collection occupies a modernist building—a fantasia of seaside art deco–period architecture with a panoramic view of rippling ocean. The rooftop café is excellent for the food and views. Work to refurbish and extend the gallery, due to be completed in 2017, may affect opening times—see the website or call ahead to check.
