St. Albans

Getting Here and Around

About 20 mi northwest of London, St. Albans is off the M1 and M25 highways, about an hour's drive from the center of the capital. First Capital Connect has frequent trains from London's St. Pancras Station, arriving in St. Albans in 30 minutes. The main train station is on Victoria Street, in the town center. A second station on the south side of town, St. Albans Abbey Station, serves smaller towns in the surrounding area. Bus service is slow and not direct. Central St. Albans is small and walkable. There's a local bus service, but you're unlikely to need it. Taxis usually line up outside the train stations.
