Vanilla Pod Review
Discreet and intimate, this restaurant is a showcase for the French-inspired cuisine of chef Michael Macdonald, who, as the name implies, holds vanilla in high esteem. The fixed-price menu favors fish and might include roasted sea bass in a vanilla sauce or fennel escabeche with mackerel and vanilla, but there's plenty to satisfy carnivores and vegetarians too. The three-course lunch menu is a fantastic bargain at £19.50, and the seven-course menu gourmand for £55 is a tour de force.
