Guildford Museum

Guildford Museum Review

In the old castle building, this museum has exhibits on local history and archaeology, as well as memorabilia of Charles Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland. Dodgson spent his last years in a house on nearby Castle Hill and is buried in the Mount Cemetery, up the hill on High Street. Castle Arch, all that remains of the entrance of the old castle, displays a slot for a portcullis.
