Swanage Railway

Swanage Railway Review

Largely volunteer-run, this railroad makes 25-minute scenic trips in vintage train carriages (steam and diesel engines) across the Isle of Purbeck—more a peninsula—from Norden in the center to the seaside town of Swanage via Corfe Castle. Small, pretty stations with details like flower baskets, painted signs, and water bowls for dogs add to the excursion's charm. Trains leave approximately every 80 minutes.
