Fodor's Review

The timbered and gabled building may be Old English—it dates back to the mid-15th century—but the cuisine is Modern British, using locally sourced ingredients. Dishes might include venison with wild mushrooms and cavolo nero cabbage or roasted and spiced monkfish. Good-value fixed-price lunches and early-evening dinners are available. Service and the heritage charm of the surroundings enhance the quality of the food.
