The Treehouse

The Treehouse Review

You don't have to visit Alnwick Garden to eat at this extraordinary restaurant set among the treetops. The location may sound gimmicky, but the effect is quite magical, especially when the place is lit up at night. The modern British fare is excellent—honey glazed duck in a peppercorn and brandy sauce, perhaps, or roasted cod with tomato and chorizo gnocchi. From July to September, the kitchen only serves prix-fixe menus at night; the rest of the year there's an à la carte selection. You can grab a light lunch or tea and cake at the Potting Shed bar, which is also open for predinner drinks.
