The Northeast Restaurants

Waren House

Waren House Review

Six acres of woodland surround this Georgian house on a quiet bay between Bamburgh and Holy Island. The crisply elegant restaurant has romantic views of Holy Island when the trees are bare; three-course fixed-price dinners might include beef oysters with onion compote and horseradish potato puree, or sea bass with citrus-steamed chard, perhaps followed by apple, plum, and walnut crumble. The public areas are comfortably furnished in period style, and there are guest rooms (£100, including dinner) if you want to linger overnight.
