Wordsworth House

Wordsworth House Review

Cockermouth was the birthplace of William Wordsworth (and his sister Dorothy), whose childhood home was this 18th-century town house. You see it complete with clutter, costumed interpreters, and period cooking in the kitchen. Young visitors can also dress up in period costumes. Harpsichord recitals take place regularly. Wordsworth's father is buried in the All Saints' churchyard, and the church has a stained-glass window in memory of the poet.
