Fodor's Review

A cozy family home less than a mile south of the village, Banerigg House has unfussy, well-appointed rooms, most with lake views. Games and books fill the guest lounge. The simple B&B is walker-friendly, which means you get hiking advice from the owners, drying facilities, and a roaring fire when needed.

An American's Home Away from Home

I am from PA and have had my fourth visit with the Clarks this summer. I keep on taking new friends back to stay there. They all feel so at home there. Angela could not be any more helpful or friendly. Martin is quieter but always wants contribute to your stay going well. The rooms are nicely decorated and spacious. Wordsworth's Dove Cottage is a short walk. The nearby village is just the right size and not as congested as some of the other

towns in the area. The views from the mountain walk across the lake are some of the most beautiful I have seen. Believe me, I am no big hiker but I did it!
