Armitt Museum
Armitt Museum Review
Ambleside's fine local-history gallery and library explores the town's past and its surroundings through the eyes of local people such as Beatrix Potter. A large collection of Beatrix Potter's natural-history watercolors and a huge number of photographic portraits can be viewed by appointment in the excellent library upstairs. Temporary exhibitions of art with a local connection are widely lauded.
