The Old Vicarage Review
A quiet edge of Ambleside's old center is the peaceful setting for this excellent-value B&B in a large Victorian former vicarage. Rooms are furnished in traditional English country style, with floral and print fabrics and dark-wood furniture; some are well equipped for families. Ask for a room in the newer wing if you prefer modern decor. A log fire and great breakfasts help make this a good deal even without the swimming pool.
