One of the top restaurants in the country, this extraordinary Bray establishment packs in fans of hyper creative cuisine every night. Chef Heston Blumenthal delights in unusual taste combinations, from mango and Douglas fir sorbet to smoked bacon and egg ice cream. The fixed-price menu lists plenty of good choices, such as foie gras spiced with Szechuan peppercorn and mead, and lasagna of langoustine with pig's trotter and truffle. Lunch from Monday through Saturday, with a £50 fixed-price menu, is cheaper than the £80 per person charged at night (as is Blumenthal's Hinds Head pub just across the road). Like the food, the interior blends traditional and contemporary elements—modern art, exposed brick walls, and ancient wooden beams.
