Church Street Town House

Church Street Town House Review

Theatergoers tucking into an early supper to the strains of the grand piano in the Blue Bar, grandmothers enjoying afternoon tea in the Library, and couples lingering over their candlelit suppers can all happily be found here. Plush armchairs, red drapes, oil paintings, and bookshelves add to the intimacy and refinement of this 18th-century town house. The chef aims to keep flavors to the fore and uses local produce in such dishes as baked Camembert with chutney, sea bass with fennel, butterbean and chickpea cassoulet, and peach and almond trifle. A dozen bedrooms replete with silvered French furniture are available should you wish to linger.
