Stratford-upon-Avon and the Heart of England Restaurants

Love's Review

Overlooking a spruced-up stretch of canal bobbing with barges, this contemporary eatery takes you on an imaginative journey through the British culinary landscape. Chef Steve Love accompanies his Gloucestershire braised pig's head with pickled mussels, apples, and black pudding crumb, while his fillet of Cornish plaice comes with tomato gnocchi, bok choy and a kaffir lime-and-lemongrass sauce. Many of the highlights appear between courses, with a well-chosen mango purée or banana-and-lime sorbet with pork scratchings. The three-course lunch menu offers good value at £25; the tasting menu is £68.
