These conjoined Georgian villas next to the moat (all that remains of Hereford Castle) offer luxurious lodgings, a warm welcome, and good food. Delicate plasterwork graces the public areas. Spacious guest rooms vary in style, with yellow, cream, and red the preferred colors; each bedroom contains a decanter of local cider brandy. The excellent restaurant relies on locally sourced and regional fare, such as Hereford beef and Gloucester Old Spot pork; the bistro, with a terrace, is open all day for light refreshment.
