Victoria Spa Lodge Review

This good-value B&B lies 1½ miles outside town, within view of the Stratford Canal; the grand, clematis-draped building dates from 1837. Queen Victoria once stayed here before taking the throne, and you can even sleep in her room. Antiques fill the elegant and spacious breakfast room, and the white woodwork and lace tablecloths are set off to advantage by terra-cotta pink walls. Guest rooms are individually decorated, and there's plenty of room for families. It's next door to Stratford Parkway train station and the Park and Ride which has bus service into town.
