Although a tourist town like Stratford-upon-Avon is amply supplied with chain stores and shops selling tourist junk, this is also a good place to shop for high-quality (and high-price) silver, jewelry, and china. There's an open market (great for bargains) every Friday in the Market Place at Greenhill and Meer streets.

You will find lower prices in Warwick and in the villages scattered around the area, but even so, genuine bargains are rare.
