The gentle countryside here rewards exploration on foot. Ambitious walkers can try the 26-mi Arden Way loop that takes in Henley-in-Arden and the Forest of Arden. On the 3 mi from Stratford to Wilmcote and Mary Arden's House, you can see beautiful scenery and ancient houses. Parkland with trails surrounds many stately homes such as Charlecote Park, Coughton Court, and Ragley Hall. Even Stratford can be the base for easy walks along the River Avon, and the path bordering the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal provides an escape from the throngs. The Stratford Tourist Information Centre has pamphlets with walks.
