Fodor's Review

The city's oldest restaurant, dating from 1872, dishes out good old British favorites such as crispy corned beef hash with poached eggs and HP brown sauce and steak and kidney pudding to diners in a Victorian-styled room with original tiling. Desserts are a bit more modern: try the bread and butter pudding layered with peanut butter and topped with white chocolate ice cream. Mr. Sam's Chophouse in Chapel Walks and the newer Albert Square Chophouse serves similar fare.
