Devonshire Arms

Published 08/18/2015

Fodor's Review

Part of the Chatsworth Estate (2 miles from the house itself), this stone 18th-century coaching inn has a cozy bar and a modern brasserie, both serving impressive global dining using local ingredients when possible, many of them from Chatsworth farms. Think everything from estate pheasant with mashed potatoes and sweet red cabbage soaked in raisin sauce, to a tikka masala curry of slow-cooked estate venison with pilau rice and spicy pickles. There are also 14 rooms decorated by the Duchess of Devonshire herself (from around £100 per night).
