Fodor's Review

The Royal Festival Hall is one of London's best spaces for large-scale choral and orchestral works and is home to the Philharmonia and London Philharmonic orchestras. Other venues in the Southbank Centre host smaller-scale music performances: The Queen Elizabeth Hall is a popular venue for chamber orchestras and top-tier soloists, and the intimate Purcell Room is known for chamber music and solo recitals. Southbank also hosts everything from the London International Mime

festival to large-scale dance performances. Also part of the complex is the Hayward Gallery (Mon. noon–6, Tues., Wed., Sat., and Sun. 10–6, Thurs. and Fri. 10–8), a landmark Brutalist-style 1960s building and one of London's major venues for contemporary art exhibitions.
