Hot dogs and Champagne? Why didn't we think of that! Bubbledogs has come up with one of the most unlikely food combinations this side of milk shakes and fries—and has miraculously hit the jackpot. Husband-and-wife team Sandia Chang and chef James Knappett have combined their respective loves of New York hot dogs and small-production-house Champagne, and gone back to basics with a bar menu that pays due homage to both. Classic 7-by-1 inch, all-British pork, beef, or vegetarian hot dogs cost a mere £6-£7.50, while the handcrafted Champagnes are some of the cheapest in town—including £6.50 for a glass of Gaston Chiquet or £7.50 for Christophe Mignon. Sit at raised counters with dog cartoons, brick walls, and cozy log-cabin paneling, and choose scrumbilicious hot dogs in baskets ranging from a superior BLT (bacon wrapped, with caramelized lettuce and truffle mayo), to a Sloppy Joe (with chili and cheese), or a K-DAWG (with kimchi and red bean paste). There's £2.50 coleslaw and sweet-potato fries, but expect to wait; they only take reservations for groups of six or more.
