Fodor's Review

Magnificent stained-glass windows of a bulging Michelin Man reminds diners in Latin that Nunc est Bibendum —"Now is the time to drink"—at this landmark special occasion showpiece in the extraordinary Art Deco Michelin Building in south Kensington. Today, seasoned chef Matthew Harris cooks with classical French brasserie flair, consistently churning out quality favorites like pigeon salad, grilled squid with aioli, steak au poivre, ox cheeks with pearl barley,

and escargots de Bourgogne (snails). Desserts like quince and almond clafoutis tart are just as impressive, and the weekend £30-£32 lunches are super-popular.

Great Room Great Food

We stayed at a hotel down the street and ate at the place on 1/3/ we walked here...the food was real good, the potato & leek soup, and the sea bass with a huge hunk of butter. the apple tart was very crisp, and the ashtrays are really neat. A place not to be missed.

Shame about the ambience

Whilst the food was excellent, the experience was spoilt by indifferent service and our seating position. The tables for 2 were all cramped together in a line against one wall. You could hear everyone's conversation, and as there was no No-Smoking area, you had to smoke their cigarettes too.

London At Its Best

We had lunch on two different trips and I can't wait to get back and do it again. It's really "top drawer" all the way. Everything is very proper in a very casual way. And the Conran Store downstairs is a fabulous bonus.
