Joe Allen

Fodor's Review:

West End theaterland cast and crew flock here after curtain-fall, but more for the Broadway buzz than the all-American comfort food. Set in an open-brick wall basement, service can be flaky, but the menu's reassuring; goat cheese with blueberry relish is a typical starter, and mains include barbecue ribs with corn muffins. There are secret off-menu burgers and Yankee desserts like pecan pie and chocolate brownies, but it's the whiff of greasepaint that everyone adores. The £18.50 Sunday brunch is a long-running hit.
