Hibiscus

Hibiscus Review

Is Claude Bosi the new Heston Blumenthal? Such are the global accolades showered on this burly French chef that -whisper it!-Bosi's now talked about in the same breath as Blumenthal, Britain's current supernova TV chef. Chef Bosi naturally bosses the scene at his disarmingly neutral Mayfair spot with peerless, take-no-prisoners nouvelle dishes like carpaccio of hand-dived Isle of Skye scallops with blobs of truffle and pickled radish, or Cornish John Dory with autumnal girolle mushrooms and specs of Morteau sausage. His desserts are as original as his mains, with an unlikely mushroom-flavored cep tart standing out. Celebration, business folk, and top-end international gastro-tourists are well served by a copious wine list, which features a pioneering selection of top-rank "orange" biodynamic, organic, and unadulterated wines.
