Alan Yau's slump-proof Chinese noodle joint off Carnaby Street charges £3.50 for all mains and sides, so it's no wonder the communal tables are usually crammed like a Hong Kong subway train. It's known to be hit-and-miss, so pick wisely from the long menu and you can score a tasty meal for £15. Spring onion pancakes, chili prawn noodles, and eggplant or duck lo mein with broth are good.
