Princess Victoria

Princess Victoria Review

This renovated 1829 former gin palace and tram stop—all soaring high ceilings, gilded mirrors, etched glass, carved wood bars, taxidermy, and Victoriana prints and photos—makes for a magnificent gastropub setting on a gentrifying stretch of the Uxbridge Road in Shepherd's Bush. With main courses under £18, top dishes range from Loch Duart salmon with squid ink linguine to monkfish cheeks with bacon and curried mussels. The wine list is a fab 350-strong list (with 36 by the glass) overseen by co-owner Matt Wilkin, with a focus on boutique growers from the Rhône in France.
