Tom Ilic . The eponymous Serbian-born chef cooks with technical brilliance but charges only neighborhood prices at this beacon on the Queenstown Road in Battersea. Big on meat, especially pork, gob-smacked locals lap up dishes like pig's cheek with chorizo (£7.85), assiette of pork (£13.95), or saddle of lamb with pesto (£13.95). Desserts like sticky toffee pudding are highly rated, and set lunches offer outstanding value at £12-£14.95, or £18.50 on Sunday. It's south of the Thames, and best approached by taxi or overland train.
